A small teapot handmade in Asuka, Japan by ceramicist Tanaka Shigeo. Recommended use for Chinese or Japanese tea ritual. Working from a 280-year-old farmhouse in Japan’s first capital, Tanaka Shigeo lives a life of deliberate simplicity where he draws water from a well, chops wood for his kiln, and cultivates his own clay. His vessels are hand-formed and wood-fired in an anagama kiln. Surface variations in the glaze and clay body are inherent in each piece.
